Italy – New limit for cash payment

From 1 January 2016 you can use the cash payments up to the maximum limit of € 2,999.99.

Italy - The 2016 Stability Law has stipulated that from 1 January 2016 you can use the cash payments up to the maximum limit of € 2,999.99.

Above this amount, you will use traceable instruments, such as bank transfers and checks not transferable.

For checks issued without non-transferability clause remains unchanged the limit of 999.99 €.

Therefore, as in the past, checks made out for amounts equal to or exceeding 1,000 € should indicate the name or business name of the recipient and the non-transferability clause.
